1. The recruitment of non-Polish citizens for studies is carried out in accordance with Section VIII of the Act of 20 July 2018 on Higher Education and Science.
2. Foreign candidates who are EU citizens, as well as foreign candidates who are not EU citizens, are required to present a document confirming their knowledge of Polish at a minimum level of B2 at the stage of recruitment for first-cycle, second-cycle and uniform master’s degree programmes.
3. Documents certifying knowledge of the Polish language at a level of proficiency not lower than B2 are the following documents certifying knowledge of the Polish language in the four language skills: listening comprehension, reading, speaking and writing, at a level of proficiency B2, Cl or C2:
1) a certificate of proficiency in Polish referred to in Article 11a(2) of the Act of 7 October 1999 on the Polish language (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1556 and of 2025, item 622); 2) a certificate confirming knowledge of the Polish language issued by the following institutions:
a) European Consortium for the Certificate of Attainment in Modern Languages (ECL) or
b) tek GmbH, WBT Weiterbildungs-Testsysteme GmbH (TELC);
3) a certificate of completion of a preparatory course for university studies, lasting at least 9 months;
4) a diploma of completion of studies with Polish as the language of instruction issued by a university operating within the higher education and science system of the Republic of Poland;
5) a diploma of completion of first-cycle studies, second-cycle studies or uniform master’s studies in the field of philology in the scope of Polish language or applied linguistics issued by a foreign university, together with a diploma supplement or a certificate confirming that the number of hours of Polish language classes was at least 500;
6) a certificate of eligibility to practise as a sworn translator issued by the Minister of Justice, referred to in Article 5(2) of the Act of 25 November 2004 on the profession of sworn translator (Journal of Laws of 2019, item 1326), or a certificate confirming entry on the list of sworn translators.
4. In relation to foreigners applying for admission to first-cycle or long-cycle Master’s degree programmes on the basis of a document issued abroad which is not a document confirming the right to apply for admission to studies, the university requires the submission of one of the following during the recruitment process:
a) a document issued abroad by a school or educational institution recognised by the state in whose territory or education system it operates, together with written information about this document issued by the director of the National Agency for Academic Exchange confirming the right to apply for admission to studies, translated into Polish by a sworn translator,
b) written information about this document issued by the director of the National Agency for Academic Exchange confirming the right to apply for admission to studies – if the submission of the original or a duplicate of the certificate or other document certifying education encounters obstacles that are difficult to overcome for a person who has been granted refugee status or subsidiary protection or who has a permanent or temporary residence permit, has obtained this certificate or other document in a country that has terminated an international agreement with the Republic of Poland on the mutual recognition of such certificates or other documents issued abroad, has suffered as a result of armed conflicts, natural disasters or other humanitarian crises caused by nature or man.
5. In relation to foreigners applying for admission to first-cycle or long-cycle Master’s degree programmes on the basis of a document issued abroad which is not a document confirming the right to apply for admission to studies, the Prof. Edward Lipiński Academy of Applied Sciences in Kielce requires the following to be submitted during the recruitment process:
a) a document issued abroad by a school or educational institution recognised by the state in whose territory or education system it operates, together with written information about this document issued by the director of NAWA confirming the right to apply for admission to studies, or
b) written information about this document issued by the director of NAWA confirming the right to apply for admission to studies – in the cases referred to in Article 93a of the Act of 7 September 1991 on the education system; The university conducts entrance examinations to test the knowledge necessary to undertake studies in a specific field, level and profile. The examination is conducted in writing during the recruitment process.
6. Foreigners holding a diploma confirming completion of higher education may be admitted to second-cycle studies if the diploma entitles them to continue their education in the country in which the issuing university operates within the higher education system.
